Nokia 3500 Classic a Slim, Simple and Snazzy Mobile Phone

The Nokia 3500 Classic seems to have been designed with a particular type of consumer in mind: someone who is looking for classic style, ease of use, standard functions, and affordability in a mobile phone unit. Definitely, someone who is not too fussy about features like high-image resolution and very high storage capacity.

The 3500 Classic is part of Nokia's Classic range of mobile phones that offer all the basics in a stylish but simple design, and at budget rates too. In terms of looks, it is both fancy and simple. Its casing is very compact, measuring only 107 mm tall, 45 mm wide and 13.1 mm thin. It is only 81 grams light, which makes it an ideal pocket phone even more. Its TFT display screen is rather small at only 1.8 inches; although, vis-à-vis the size of the phone itself, this seems quite reasonable. The keypad is laid out in standard fashion and presents no problem at all. The fancy aspect of the design—and perhaps the only fancy aspect of the Nokia 3500 Classic itself—is the dual-colour casing, with a choice between gray, blue, pink, and mandarin colours partnered with black. But even with bright colour, the 3500 Classic still looks very sleek. A smooth metal rim outlines the front part of this mobile phone, protecting the screen from scratches.

In terms of features though, it is no question that the Nokia 3500 Classic is really a low-end mobile phone. While it has all the basic multimedia functions, that\'s really just about what they are—basic. But for its price, the 2 mega pixel camera with 8x digital zoom, for instance, can be considered decent enough. It is definitely better, at least, than the 1.3 mega pixel camera of the Nokia 3110. If you like excellence in a camera phone, however, you\'re better off with a Nokia N series unit if you can afford it.

Similarly, you can\'t really expect excellent resolution from the 3500 Classic, which only offers a very limited 128 by 160 pixels display. The video recorder function is likewise unremarkable. Other multimedia offerings of this Nokia model are a music player, FM radio, MMS, and Java games. The music player is good enough but not spectacular, and plays most standard formats including MP3 and AAC . Internet support is available with the 3500 Classic\'s XHTML browser, GPRS Class 10, HSCSD, and EDGE technology that allows faster data transfer rates. It also has all the standard connectivity components such as Bluetooth, USB, and an AV connector.

The built-in memory is a bit limited, with only 8.5 Mbytes capacity. However, the phone has a microSD memory card slot that can be used to extend storage to up to 2GB additional. The battery life is also quite good, offering standby time of approximately 300 hours and talk time of up to 4 hours. And speaking of talk time, it is also very helpful that the Nokia 3500 Classic has an integrated hands-free speaker, as well as voice features like voice recording, voice commands, and speaker-independent name dialing.

Overall, the 3500 Classic delivers, even if it is nowhere near top of the line when it comes to features.

There are plenty of mobile phones available in the market, and the abundance of choices can make like a bit difficult. The wealth of Nokia mobile phones is alone enough to give you pause. Be sure to do your research.Get more information regarding mobile phones.
